Skye is a Christian who is thinking about coming out to their friends & family.They have known they are queer for a long time, however are cautious about embracing their sexuality.
They are scared their Christian community might abandon them.
Skye is pretty extroverted & in their free time they attend bible studies. But don't know anyone who is going through the same thing they are.
Skye is feeling lonely at night in their bedroom & decides to Google resources to help them come out of the closet.
They discover this app, called believr, which is a dating app specficially for LGBTQ+ Christians.
They are excited to learn that there is an app & a community for people that are just like them.
That night, Skye is delight to complete the onboarding & build out the basic components of their profile.
The next day they are waiting alone for their food at a restaurant and want to find a friend in their area to chat with that has the same values as them.
They are frustrated they cannot filter matches by location & denomination. They also are frustrated is no way for them to indicate they are only looking for friendship at the moment.
Later that day, Skye decides to use the community space feature of the app. They are hoping to find friendships & resources for coming out.
They are overwhelmed with the community chat because there are too many people talking at once about too many topics in the same space.
They try to message individual people from the chat they they find interesting but are not able to without purchasing a membership.
Skye is disappointed that they cannot even see other profiles without paying first.
Because they have no other option to access this community, Skye decides to purchase Spectrum to access more connections and features.
Skye continues to message people privately from the community & is happy to finally find someone from the community to meet in person.
Skye meets up with their new friend at their favorite coffee shop to talk about the struggles of being gay & Christian.
Skye finally has a gay Christian friend she can invite over to watch Ru Pauls drag race on Fridays...it's their favorite show!
Skye feels more comfortable with their sexuality knowing there are others like them. They might even explore going on some romantic dates next!
