- Synthesis is the production of a chemical compound (1 product) by the reaction from simpler materials/elements. It can be represented as a wedding. The wife (A) joins with the husband (B) to form a marriage (one single product).

- The family divorces (separates) = woman man (2 diffrent individuals)

- Decomposition is the opposite of synthesis. Compounds are broken into elements by a chemical reaction. It can be represented as a divorce. The wife (A) divorces the husband (B) and they become again into two different individuals (elements).

- Single-displacement is the chemical reaction when one element replaces a similar element in a compound. It can be represented as an exchange of a significant other in a relationship. For example, Anna was with Bill but then she exchanges partners and ends up with Carl. As we can see, both Bill and Carl were blond and boys, they are similar.

- Elements or 2 diffrent atoms in different compounds interchange partners. It can be represented in a dance. For example; Amy (A) is dancing with Bart (B) and Chris (C) with Dana (D). Then they interchange of partners and now Amy is dancing with Chris and Dana with Bart.
