  • On a bright Friday afternoon...
  • Claire wants to help her chef mom with making dinner so she finds out how to make a vegetable salad.
  • Protein Synthesis AnalogyBy: Jacin G. Guerrero BSN-1Biochemistry-Protein synthesis Analogy
  • The recipe book is located in the library, which is the nucleus (DNA). The transcription process begins with transferring the salad-making directions to a journal.
  • The journal (mRNA) leaves the library (nucleus) and arrives at the kitchen (cytoplasm). If the wrong instructions were copied over, then the result would be a mutation.
  • What a tasty dinner!
  • The eyes (rRNA) forms part of chef mom (ribosome) in helping with reading the journal (mRNA). The daughter's hands (tRNA) carry the ingredients (amino acids) to her chef mom (ribosome) for producing the salad, which is the translation process.
  • The numerous ingredients put to the mixing bowl form a developing protein chain. The salad (protein) is generated once the developing protein chain is complete.
  • The salad (protein) generated conveys characteristics, which can be reflected by the salad's flavor.
