Storyboard Text

  • There is a population of horses that are the exact same only difference is their skin color. Some are dark brown while others are light white brown. They love to eat berries, leaves, and grass. They also have great eyesight as they can see from far ahead.
  • One day, an earthquake happened where the horse population got separated from each other. Almost half stayed on the same land while the other's land drifted away into a different part of the world where the climate has changed.
  • When the population got separated from the rest, it had to adapt to the new environment it was in. Because of the change in geography and them being in a different place on earth, the environment changed and it happened to be much colder now. Many died in the beginning due to a lack of endurance however, over many generations they adapted to the new environment.
  • While living there they had a mutation where they gained thicker fur that helped them survive the cold weather. They also had to adapt to their new diet by only consuming leaves. Both genetically and physically they have changed from their original form through generations that carried on their new traits.
  • The population that hasn't separated and stayed on the same land didn't have any change due to there not being any environmental change. They kept on reproducing and living their life as if nothing has happened and no adaptation was required.
  • When these two different populations meet again they are seen as completely different species from each other due to genetics changing like thicker fur. One of them has evolved turning into a different specie, Lama. These two organisms aren't able to interbreed with each other to create fertile offspring due to reproductive isolation. Making us have two species that occurred from one.
