One major theme "The Monsters Are Due on Maple Street Theme" by Rod Serling is that Violence doesn't solve problems For example everyone saw that Mr Goodman's car want off so they got suspicious of Goodman's so they were yelling at him and they watching him his house and his car. Goodman was saying that he did not know how his car went off but everyone else was say that he was a alien. Anther example is when Charlie shot Pete Van Horn that did not help at all because all he did was kill one of his neighbor. Anther piece of evidence is when every one stared it fight and blame each other this mad at each other so they fought and fought till the aliens were happy and left to go to an other maple street than to a other and other and another.
