- Genre
- The mode of narration is third person perspective. The narrator was descriptive which provided imagery and intel about the characters for the reader. However, sometimes the character, because of the non-linear plot, would be the narrator of a story. The formatting style created suspense, whenever something significant happened the story cut off and went into another character's perspective.
- Relativity
- “And this is the absolute best game to get to know each other. Spin the bottle. The original game of chance." (101)
- The narrator helps to create imagery and the characters create drama. The narrator used words like crimson and gold to describe hallways, rooms and corridors in the Vindico Mansion. However, the characters also created imagery through talking amongst themselves.
- The genre of the book is action. The book has drama and a bit of romance but there are many fights and deaths that are described in the book. These fights were described in a very gory tone as well making the book seem like an action novel.
- This novel is relevant to teenagers in terms of drama. The teenagers in the book all have relatable personalities, like how Hayden is impulsive and Lana is anxious. They, also, come from different social, personal, and cultural backgrounds, meaning that they all have a different life and they all have an ethnicity whether its similar or different.
