- GRAND THEFT AUTO
- One day Beth found herself in a car dealership with a sparkly pink car.
- She needed that pink car. An idea began to brew in her head.
- WOOOOOO!
- uh oh
- You are under arrest for the theft of the pink auto vehicle. You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law. You have the right to speak to an attorney, and to have an attorney present during any questioning. If you cannot afford a lawyer, one will be provided for you at government expense.
- They think they can stop me by containing me in this cell! I will get out of here with my pink whip.
- Beth No Last Name you are presented here in this courtroom today on the account of one charge of grand theft auto I have now set bail as $30,000 you have the right to remain silent and the right to an attorney.
- NOOOO I don't have that money I would have bought the car if I did.
- A few weeks later
- We are here today because Beth No Last Name has one charge of grand theft auto. We are presented with evidence of a security camera from the dealership along with a witness who saw Beth taking off in the vehicle.
- The jury decides that there is enough evidence to indict and go to trial.
- Your honor my client here is a first time offender and is very sorry for what she has done. We request that she does not go to jail but stay on house arrest for the next coming months and after to be free on parole with community service hours to complete.
- Psh lets make this a bit more fun.
- Ms. No Last Name, How do you plead?

- I was walking around looking for cars around the dealership and I just see someone speed off. I thought they were going way to fast for it being a new car then I heard someone stole it a few days later and I knew it was the same person.
- This is my wife and it's crazy you would even think she stole a car. She is a very kind and generous soul never once has she done anything like this.

- Alright has the Jury come to a verdict.
- The jury has unanimously decided that Beth No Last Name is guilty of grand theft auto.
- The jury has found Beth guilty I now sentence you to 2 years in prison

- Due process is a procedure or steps that happen to ensure fair treatment in a judicial system. Due process includes amendments, rights, and steps taken during a criminal or civil law scenario. Due process is important in the legal process because it protects our rights, makes sure everyone is treated fairly, and creates an efficient justice system. Due process protects our rights because there are certain rules or amendments that apply to everyone that must be granted or told to everyone. For example the fifth amendment grants you the right to remain silent and must be stated in your Miranda rights when an arrest occurs. Protecting peoples rights is important to the legal process because it makes sure the justice system is fair and goes by the constitution and rules. Due process is also important to the legal process because it makes sure everything is fair. Making sure everyone is granted their rights and everyone plays by the rules makes a fair trial and system. If everyone must follow these rules or if these rights apply to everyone it'll ensure a fair trial. This can also create an efficient justice system because if everyone is granted their rights and a trial is fair and follows the same guidelines there is a system set in place that allows everything to flow nicely and fairly.
