In february 1836 Santa Anna found out about a close mission called the alamo after a devastating loss at the San Antonio.Sam Huston sent Jim Bowie to destroy the Alamo and return with the artillery and men. Once Jim Bowie got there he ignored the orders because he felt the need to defend the city. About half the men where volunteers so they could go as they pleased and most did not respect Travis so they only listened to Jim Bowie.Santa Anna Gave the the people in the Alamo a chance to escape and waited several days to do anything. Everyone decided to sty and fight.

In 1883 General Antonio Lopez De Santa Anna became president of Mexico, he then became dictator. When this happens he tightened his hold on Texas and refused to let it be independent. (March 6 1836) After 13 days of fighting Santa Anna launched an all out attack and took over the Alamo, only a couple women survived and one child from the Alamo. 600 out of 2,000 Mexican soldiers died.
