  • We will be going into different classrooms and asking students and teachers what their shoe size is so we can collect the information and create our dot plot.

  • But Maria, how on earth are we going to create a dot plot!?
  • Don’t worry Carlitos, I learned this in my math class and it’s very easy! I will guide you through it.
  • We asked 20 people around school and we have shoe sizes from 6-12, and now we will create our dot plot graph.

  • Okay, that is easy. But why is this useful?
  • The first step is to arrange the shoe sizes from least to greatest. Then set up a line from 6 to 9 going by .5 intervals. Next we have to arrange the shoe size to the corresponding size and draw a dot.
