- The Bitterings landed on mars. Mr. Bittering is worried and doesn't want to stay in Mars. But Mrs. Bittering said, "Chin up, Harry, it's too late, We've come over sixty million miles."
- "I'm not quite sure about staying here in Mars"
- Its going to be ok we are going to be fine
- in this scene David the Bitterings son said, "I think I see things moving around in those towns, papa, I wonder if those Martians mind us living here."

- in this scene laura bittering came running through the settlement , crying she said, "Mother, Father-the war, Earth, she sobbed. A radio flash just came, Atom booms hit New York! All the space rockets blown up, no more rockets to mars, ever."

- in this scene harry starts getting even more worried because the plants are turning different colors and smell different
- "Cora these blossoms, do you see? They're different the have changed they're not peach blossom. anymore.."
