  • We cannot even afford enough bread for the whole family! Please spare us!
  • Without the third amendment, citizens would have to quarter soldiers, regardless of their economic situation, which could ruin their lives.
  • For speeding 10 miles over the speed limit, you must pay a fine of $1000 and be flogged 200 times
  • The eight amendment prevents people from cruel and unusual punishment. Without this amendment, people would get harsher punishments than they deserved for any crime they committed, and justice would not be served.
  • But officer, this punishment is too harsh!
