How does the character look?
In the Play fences Cory walks into the yard with his football gear, talking to his mom about chore. The text says, "I told you I had to go to practice" (Williams 32). This shows what he looks like a young football player .

What/Who does the character love?
In the play Fences Cory talks to Troy about football. In the play Cory says, " Cory. I get good grades, Pop. That's why the recruiter wants to talk to you. You got to keep up your grades to get recruited. This way I'll be going to college. I'll get a chance... Troy. First you gonna get your butt own there to the AP and your job back. Cory. Mr. Stawicki done already hired somebody else cause I told him I was playing football" (Wilson This shows Cory loves football and wants to play when he get older or go to college.

What can't the character do?
In the play Fences Cory comes home and gets in a serious argument. Cory says, "Cory. What you do that for Pop?COry. Pops done went up to the school and told Coach Zellman I can't Play football no more. Wouldn't even let play the game. Told him tell the recruiter not to come". This shows that because of his dad he can't play football no more due to his dad not wanting him to play.
