- Are you sure this one works right?
- Before WW1, tension was increasing due to militarism between countries such as Germany and Great Britain. Germany and Great Britain had increasing tensions because they were trying to build up their armed forces and ships as much as they can, as quickly as possible. They were also preparing for war, if it ever broke out, which eventually did in 1914.
- We need more ships to use against the Germans. We cannot let Germany take over our land in Asia and Africa.

- THE TRIPLE ENTENTE
- The Triple Entente was formed with Great Britain and France Already allied and Russia and Great Britain divided territory in Iran to ease tensions between the countries to make them all allied. They were all upset at Germany for different reasons, France because they lost land to them, Russia, because Germany was helping Austria Hungary keep Bosnia from independence and Great Britain because they were already competing with Germany with their naval buildup. The triple Alliance was formed because Germany was upset that Great Britain wouldn't allow them to use the Suez Canal, so they asked The Ottoman Empire to help them build the Berlin Baghdad Railway to import their goods. Austria-Hungary allied with Germany because they share a common culture.

- Yes Germany, we can ally with you. We know that Russia is allied with Great Britain and France which you are competing and upset with. We'll Let you build the Berlin-Baghdad Railway if you come to our aid if Russia attacks.
- I will ally with both of you, The Ottoman Empire and Germany, as long as you will help fight Russia if they help Bosnia.
- Austria-Hungary, we should ally due to the fact that we have common cultures. Ottoman Empire, we can't go through the Suez Canal to import our goods. Can we build a railway through your country?

- Lots of European countries owned land throughout Africa. The point of owning all this land was to sell factory goods and get materials only found there. Morocco had lots of copper and gold, and rebellions broke out against the Moroccan leader. France sent troops back and Germany sent a gunboat as well. Great Britain was scared for France because they are allied and thought that Germany might build Naval Bases there, so Great Britain ordered Germany to stop and back down. After this, Germany felt upset and humiliated.

- Many types of technology became popularized during WW1, mostly military weapons. These Weapons such as machine guns, mines, barbed wire, attack aircraft, (airplanes) warships, (ships) submarines and poison gas.

- When America joined the war, the government wanted Americans to support the war. Some ways that Americans helped was by not eating certain foods on certain days. The most common were Wheatless Mondays and Meatless Tuesdays. Americans did this so they could save food for the soldiers at war. Another way the government made Americans support the war was by putting up propaganda posters. These posters were encouraging people to sign up for the war and was convincing them to support the government.

- President Wilson offered 14 points to make the Treaty of Versailles successful and keep peace. However, most countries didn't listen to these rules and took advantage of Germany since they were mad at them for 'starting the war'. Germany did not like this because they were being treated unfairly and couldn't do anything about it because the other countries outnumbered them.
- We tried, but the other countries didn't invite us to the Treaty of Versailles, we couldn't access certain waterways, we were the only ones that had to reduce the size of our military, and our colonies were given to other countries! This isn't fair.

- Yes Sir. I believe we are ready in case we need to fight. We still need to be better than Great Britain though.
- Russia, since me and France are already allied, and me and you already signed a treaty, we can help fight for Bosnia if you decide to.
- Russia, we loaned you billions of dollars to help you build up your military. We can ally with you as long as you help us if Germany attacks us and you can help me get back Alsace-Lorraine from Germany.
- I will ally with both of you as long as you will help me fight for Bosnia and help us go against Germany.
- No! France you must not let Germany invade Morocco. They might set up naval bases there.
- Germany, you have to send your ships back. You can't build naval bases here, this isn't your land.
- Not really. My family has been starting wheatless Mondays and meatless Tuesdays, but I'm not sure if I want to sign up. These propaganda posters are pretty convincing though.
- For the treaty of Versailles, we should include Germany as well as other countries to remain peaceful after this war. We should discuss in open treaties, make it so all countries have freedom over our seas, have us all reduce our militaries, having colonies be able to have control on what happens in the future, have different culture groups form their own countries, and have countries settle arguments in a peaceful way by coming together and discussing.
