Storyboard Text

  • act 4 scene 1
  • The Clown finds "Cesario" (which is actually Sebastian) and tries to bring him to Oliva's house but Sebastian is confused as to how this man claims to know him.
  • "Well held out, i' faith. No, I do not know you, nor I am not sent to you by my lady, to bid you come speak with her, nor your name is not Master Cesario, nor this is not my nose neither. Nothing that is so is so." (4.1.5-9)
  • act 4 scene 1
  • Sir Andrew thinks it's Cesario as well and starts to attack him, Sebastian then hits him with his dagger and tried to run away, with that Sir Andrew and Sir toby take out their swords in preparation for a fight to keep Sebastian from leaving.
  • "Hold, Toby! On thy life I charge thee, hold!" (4.1.45)
  • Oliva then comes out to see them fighting and yells for them to stop.
  • act 4 scene 1
  • Oliva thinks Sebastian is Cesario as well, so she invites him into her house after she had just seen him fighting with Sir Andrew.
  • "Madam, I will. "(4.1.64)
  • "I prithee, gentle friend,Let thy fair wisdom, not thy passion, swayIn this uncivil and unjust extentAgainst thy peace. Go with me to my house,-" (4.1.51-54)
  • act 4 scene 2
  • Maria, Sir Toby, The Clown and along with some other servants are now in Oliva's house while Malvolio is locked in a dark cell, Feste is told to dress up as the priest (Sir Topas) and go to talk to him.
  • "Nay, I prithee, put on this gown and this beard. Make him believe thou art Sir Topas the curate. Do it quickly. I’ll call Sir Toby the whilst." (4.2.2)
  • act 4 scene 2 
  • "Madman, thou errest. I say, there is no darkness but ignorance, in which thou art more puzzled than the Egyptians in their fog." (4.2.42)
  • "I am not mad, Sir Topas. I say to you this house is dark."(4.2.41)
  • Sir Toby and Maria listen to the conversation between the two. Malvolio tells the priest that he is not crazy and the priest tells Malvolio that he must be "possessed" to not see the amount of light he has being provided by the windows. Malvolio then asked to be questioned to prove his sanity but the priest doesn't listen to his stupid questions.
  • act 4 scene 2
  • The Clown comes back from talking to Malvolio, Sir Toby is now telling him to go back down there but now speak as himself and the priest, Sir Topas.
  • "To him in thine own voice, and bring me word how thou findest him. I would we were well rid of this knavery. If he may be conveniently delivered, I would he were, for I am now so far in offense with my niece that I cannot pursue with any safety this sport to the upshot. Come by and by to my chamber." (4.2.68-74)
