Storyboard Text

  • In the first paragraph it stated, "The houses in the outskirts were all exactly alike, small square boxes painted gray... Meg had a feeling that if she could count the flowers there would be exactly the same number for each house." This kicks off the strange alikeness of everything in the neighborhood.
  • In paragraph 2 Charles said, "They're skipping and bouncing in rhythm! Everyone's doing it at exactly the same moment." It's pretty hard to orchestrate a large amount of people to do the same exact thing at the same time. It would be pretty alarming if they're doing it simultaneously on their own.
  • In paragraph 4 it talked about women wearing the same dress with a different print standing in front of their houses calling the kids. Then everyone stopped playing at the same time then went inside. This just emphasizes the creepy unison the whole neighbor is in, which isn't normal.
  • In the last paragraph it said, "In front of one of the houses stood a little boy with a ball, and he was bouncing it...The door of his house opened and out ran one of the mother figures. She looked wildly up and down the street, saw the children and put her hand to her mouth as though to stifle a scream, grabbed the little boy and rushed indoors with him." It seems that there would be consequences if you don't fall in line with everyone else. This backs up the fact that something more sinister is going on in the neighborhood.
