  • Hi Patricia, did you hear about the World War going on that Germany started?
  • I did! I'm glad that the US decided to take a stance of neutrality . It wouldn't be a good decision for us to get involved while still recovering from the Great Depression.
  • Three weeks later: Pearl Harbour
  • I think it would be best just to abandon the policy of neutrality and join the war effort.
  • So what are we going to do, Japan just bombed Pearl Harbour?
  • During the beginning of WW2, the United States of America signed a policy of neutrality, declaring that they would not be getting involved neither taking sides in the war. This decision was mainly because they were still suffering from the Effects of the Great Depression.
  • Despite Japan bombing us, I think we still shouldn't have joined this war.
  • I agree but the government must know what is right, we just have to play our part.
  • Approximately 2 years into the war, Japan bombed Pearl Harbour, United States of America.
  • Time skip:The End of WW2

  • Hi, where are you going on this wonderful Sunday morning at this time? Don't you have housework to do?
  • We can now apply for jobs in the factory. So that's where I'm working from now on.
  • Didn't you hear Jennifer, because of the decrease in the employment rate, we women no longer have to work at home.
  • Proceeding this decision, the US declared war and Japan and WW2 continued.
  • The war that lasted around six years, officially terminated on September 2, 1945 and the citizens of America began to suffer from the effects of their decision to join World War 2.
  • Due to world war 2, the already low employment rate of 25% dropped to around 10%. This is because the American factories were retooled to provide support for those participating in the war. Following this, women were recruited to take over positions such as the assembly lines.
