Storyboard Text

  • In this scene, Achilles forgives Agamemnon and Agamemnon shows him respect. This is important because Achilles and Agamemnon have always had beef but, since being in the after life, they have come to respect and forgive one another showing a change in heart.
  • "Great glory is yours, Achilles, for all time, in the eyes of all mankind!" (24.101-2).
  • "If only you had died your death in the full flush of the glory you had mastered---died on Trojan soil!'" (24.32-3).
  • In this scene, Odysseus is in disguise as a father so his father won't recognize him. Odysseus asks his father a multitude of questions to see if his father can figure out that he is really Odysseus. Instead, his father bursts into tears because he is thinking about his son. Odysseus then tells his father that he is truly Odysseus and has come home.
  • "'Father---I am your son--- myself, the man you're seeking, home after twenty years, on native ground at last!'" (24.359-60).
  • In this scene, Odysseus and his men are being attacked. Odysseus shouts to one of Dolius's sons and tells him to check if the enemies are coming. The man rushes to check and sees the soldiers outside closing in, so he conveys the message above to Odysseus to warn him.
  • "'They're on top of us! To arms---and fast!'" (23.547).
