  • A man named Louis XIV was someone who had left France in deeply debt. With the Seven Years' War and the American Revolution their strained the treasury going even further. In order for to bridge the gap between the income and expenses, the government just to keep borrowing more and more money. 
  • Delegates Take the Tennis Court Oath
  • With Louis XIV heir, the men weren't the right ones to solve the economic crisis that had afflicted in France. Necker began to propose taxes against the First and Second Estates, since that occurred they wanted the king to dismiss him. When the crisis began the king had gathered the Estates-General, to involve them in these changes that were going to occur.
  • Parisians Storm the Bastille
  • During this time Louis had 3 estates prepare cahiers, listing their grievances. The shoemakers were denounced regulations that made leather so expensive they could not afford to make shoes. Though the cahiers have testified to boiling class resentments.

  • The delegates from the Third Estate were elected, only men could of voted. May of these people were lawyers, middle-class officials, and writers. With the estates convened in the month of May year 1798, with each of the groups only have 1 vote. The first and second outvoted them two to one.
  • July 14, 1789, the city of Paris was attacked with the spotlight from the National Assembly meeting in Versailles. Many of the streets were filled with troops who were going to occupy the capital.  While outside the Bastille, more than 800 Parisians assembled outside. So the commander of Bastille didn't want to open the door and attacked the citizens, many people were killed that day.
