  • Industrial Revolution
  • By: Julia Rapoza
  • Being a farmer in the early 1800's is so difficult! we have been living the same way as our ancestors have for hundreds of years. I am pretty poor and have very little. I grow mainly corn and potatoes and get most of my earnings from that. I wish there were a different way I could live
  • During the 1820s, things were changing rapidly in the cities and countryside. Farmers were moving from their farms into the city to work in the newly established factories. These factories had plenty of opportunities for not only these farmers, but other types of people in England. These factors produced textiles, fabrics, and other materials. These materials were then shipped off for both the global and domestic market.
  • In cities, artisans were booming. Artisans were creating small improvements to existing mechanical devices. In factories machines such as the spinning jenny, carding machines, and water frames were being used to create textiles. Child labor was a big thing in these factories because it was free labor. Child labor was the start of an industrial oppression. Children, women, and slaves were the main groups effected.
  • Steam power was being used to power many things like trains, machines, and other things. it makes my job easier! With the new trains came railroads, rail stations, hotels and restaurants, and all the people who worked in these establishments. New classes were produced, people because richer, and the country became wealthier. The industrial revolution was extremely important to the history of England
