- George talks about how he used to treat Lennie. He used to bully him and hit him because he was too dumb to undestand
- " I used to play jokes on 'im cause he was too dumb to take care of 'imself. But was too dumb even to know he had a joke played on him. I had fun" - Geroge
- Carlson shot Candy's dog because he was old and had all these physical problems.
- "God awmighty, that dog stinks. Get him outta here, Candy! Idont know anything that stinks as bad as an old dog. you gotta get him out." -Carlson
- Curley is looking for Slim and his wife on the ranch because he thinks she is cheating on him, but no one has seen her.
- "you'll see plenty. She ain't concealin' nothing. I never seen nobody like her. she got the eye goin' all the time on everybody" said whit
- Candy, Lennie, and George talk about their dreams of getting a ranch one day and putting in money.
- "don't tell nobody about it. Jus' us three an' nobody else." - George
- Curley is mad because he can't find his wife anywhere even though she is everywhere on the ranch
- "If you can't look after your own God damm wife, what you expect me to do about it? you lay offa me." -slim
- Lennie was still laughing because of the conversation about the ranch. Curley was mad then got into a fight with Lennie. Lennie wouldn't let go of his fist and broke his hand.
