The atom is the basic building block of all matter.It is the smallest particle in an element.It is so small that you cannot see it.
In an atom there are electrons that orbit the nucleus. The outermost electrons are called Valence Electrons. They're the reason electricity works
Properties of Electricity
There are three main properties of electricity; Voltage (V/E), Current (I), and Resistance (R). Using these, you can calculate almost anything in a circuit.
This is an Ohm Triangle.
Relationships between Properties of Electricity
V = I x RI = V/RR = V/I
Using the Ohm triangle you can calculate the voltage, current, or resistance using the other values. Here are the equations. You can also use the Ohm triangle to do this.

This is a circuit and it has 3 basic components, a battery, a resistor, and an output (which in this case is an LED). The battery provides current and voltage to the circuit. The resistor prevents the current from overloading the output by resisting the current. The LED uses the voltage and current to produce light. The current flows away from the positive terminal and towards the negative terminal.
