  • In 1776, a revolution began when the colonies had enough with British rule over them. WHile they no longer needed help, the British made many taxes that infriated the colonies to pay for the war. 
  • No Taxation Without Representation!
  • You can't stop us now !!
  • American colonists were angered when they felt like the British were only watching them and taxing them. After they worked hard creating the colonies they still had no representation on the British Parliament.
  • Some Colonies were No-shows
  • We must work together.
  • NO! Then we can't stop you.
  • IN March 1765, the Stamp Act was passed on the legal documentations and paper goods. This affected the Americans because it was the first direct tax to them.
  • Boycotting Britian's goods

  • YAYYYAYAYAY!
  • American activists were upset the British taxes and created a meeting called the Stamp Act Congress. They formed this meeting knowing they had a better chance being recogized at Parliment if all the coloniees worked together.
  • The Congress first struggled standing up to Britain ver the Stamp Act. Once they all met together they understood they all needed to work together against Britain. 
  • After the colonists protesting against Britain by boycotting their goods the Stamp Act was repealed. This peace did not last long afterwards.
