  • I bet your too scared to go jump off the top of that grey building!
  • No! Your telling me to jump off because you are too scared to do it yourself!
  • How Adler Sees me
  • Good Job Honey. I am so proud of you!
  • Dad I got a 100% on my math test!
  • I will never be as smart as you!
  • How Rogers Sees Me
  • Nobody thinks I am funny. I should just give up and stop trying.
  • "Matt is so funny!""He makes me laugh so hard""I want him around all the time!"
  • Freud believed in defense mechanisms. Defense mechanisms are a way to distort reality into a less harsh form. One of his defense mechanisms, projection, is represented in this scene. Projection is seeing your own unacceptable impulses in others. In this example, the boy on the left is trying to make the boy on the right feel he is scared. In reality it is the boy on the left who is scared.
  • How Costra and McCrae See Me
  • Hey! My name is Albert. I think your dance moves are awesome!
  • Alfred Alder was a firm believer of the birth order theory. He believed that the order in which children are born affects their personality as they age. Children strive for superiority in their own families and birth order can affect how one responds in certain situations. In this situation the younger child believes he will never be as smart as his older sister.
  • How Jung Sees Me
  • That girl is sad. I feel bad for her.
  • Ya your right. I think she looks sad too. I wonder what happened.
  • Rogers theory has to do with one achieving self actualization. It also includes the description of ones real-self vs ideal-self. A person can think others see them a certain way but in reality it could be the complete opposite. In this example, Kevin thinks no one thinks he is funny but in reality everyone likes him and thinks he is.
  • How Bandura Sees me
  • I could have gotten an A on that psych test if I studied for it. This is all my fault. I should have just studied!
  • Costra and McCrae were important contributors in the big 5 core personality traits. These 5 traits included openness, agreeableness, extroversion, neuroticism, and Conscientiousness. They believed every person contained one of these traits and within these five personalities, there are sub personalities as well. in this example, it is demonstrating extroversion because these two have never met each other and hitting it off quickly.
  • Thank you! My name is Betty. It is nice to meet you. Do you want to be friends?
  • Carl Jung's most important contribution was the idea of the collective unconscious. The collective unconscious is a universal version of the personal unconscious, holding mental patterns, or memory traces, which are shared with other members of human species. In this example, both the modern day human and the king from centuries ago are able to tell that the girl is upset due to her facial expression.
  • One term that Bandura was known for was the Internal Locus of Control. This states that we feel that we are in charge of our circumstances. In this example, the girl is blaming herself for her grade that she got on her psych test. She knows she should have studied harder and there is no one to blame but her.
