- One day, a mysterious old man rang the bell of Cessie ' s house and said that he is his grandad. When Arthur, Cessie 's dad, arrived he wasn't happy and began a dispute about the past and reproached to his father to have abandoned him.
- I am your grandad, Cessie but you can call me Popsicle.
- He is my father.
- Arthur hasn't got a father.You could be anyone
- The Stevens accepted to put Popsicle up at home. Cessie love his grandad but Arthur, his father is distant with him. And when some mean girls destroyed the boat built by Popsicle, he began to be depressed...

- The Stevens decided to put Popsicle in a Nursing Home because of his weakness caused by his patchy memory. However Cessie know that Popsicle is unhappy there. So she decided to find objects to his life to help him to remember his past in order to leaving Shangri-La

In 1940, Popsicle,15 years old, hid in the hold of the Micheal Hardy to rescued the English soldiers who fled Dunkirk. While they were flying Dunkirk with the soldiers Popsicle fell in the sea...

- Fortunately Popsicle was saved by a soldier but when they arrived in the beach, the soldier was killed by the German. Popsicle,injured, was rescued,treated and hidden by a French mother and his daughter: Lucie Alice. Unfortunatly he was arrested by the German some month after and deported in Germany.
