The Boston Massacre is an unhappy incident that happened in 1770, in King Street at the customhouse door. Some young boys started throwing snowballs at the British soldiers and a crowd formed from this. Soon, people were throwing snowballs, sticks, and rocks and calling out nasty things such as "come on you rascals", "you bloody backs", and "fire if you dare". The soldiers heard the word "fire" and supposed it came from their captain. The privates then fired as they thought they were commanded to, and killed 3 men on the spot, injuring 8, 2 of which were mortally.
