- Good point sally, this did benifit many kingdoms such as when the trans saharan trade route was used to import gold to make coins but these trade routes were also very dangerous and fell victim to bandits.
- It is true that the europeans were not the nicest people however global trade allowed for products to be exchanged from a variety of places from Asia all the way to Africa. Items such as gold, salt, fabric and other valuable resources were exported and imported .
- Very true, trade routes were infested with thieves who would attack trading caravans but there was also ways to trade through the sea such as the Indian ocean basin.
- Even so trade routes were often a cause of conflict for a variety of reasons whether they be political, religious, cultural or regional. Trade routes were often fought for and many wanted to control them by imposing taxes.
- What you say is very true but trade also led to cultural exchange, merchants would not only exchange products but also beliefs which led to the expansion of religions Islam after the death of Muhammad's death.
- The exchange of culture did lead to diversity but trade did lead to the fall of many big kingdoms like what the Europeans did. Europeans heard of how countries in Africa were economic powerhouses and abused of them.
- It is quite unfortunate how these African kingdoms suffered from the trade they at first established with the Europeans since they kidnapped the people of these kingdoms and forced them to work at sugar plantations
- Very unfortunate, The kongo kingdom is a great example of this since they traded only criminals as slaves but the europeans demanded more slaves and began to take ships of slaves back to european countries and this had a major impact on the kingdom as they never recovred from that loss
