  • I heard a voice say "Macbeth has murdered sleep. and therefore Macbeth will sleep no more"

  • Macbeth imagines a dagger which leads him to the king's chamber for him to murder.

  • Macduff explains what has happened after the murder of King Duncan and how Malcolm and Donalbain have fled. After, Macduff decides to go back to Fife and Ross has planned to go to Scone where Macbeth will be crowned.

  • Macbeth then directs Macduff to the king's chamber but is horrified of the tragedy that has occurred to the king.
  • Malcom and Donalbain decide not to stay in the castle with the others as those two are the prime suspects of the King's murder since they are the King's sons. Malcom decides to go to England while Donalbain plans to flee to Ireland.
