  • Fr Mueffels arrived at orangewalk shortly after Fr Piemonte died and he had to become a pastor. The church had burned down and all the nuns had fallen ill. He overcame obstacles and learned to preach in Maya for the people. He then built la inmaculda church with Mr kevlin and Brother Naughton. He was loved by the community for his dedication, he was then transffered to Belize City.

  • 1953: Started with 21 male students in the presbytery, then moved to a rented house across Church Street.1957: Went co-ed (8 young women joined 14 young men).1958–1960: Relocated across from the Parish Church (creating Muffles Street) and expanded to a full 4-year high school.Sisters of Mercy Modern Campus (1967–1968): Sponsorship transferred to the Sisters of Mercy. First Mercy Principal Sr. Mary Lois Harten developed the current campus on Otro Benque Street in October 1968.Further Expansion (1992): Added Muffles Junior College, initially led by Assistant Dean Mr. Adrian Leiva.
