- HI, Im Fares Haffar, Your medical consultant. I will be teaching you more about your disease.
- I have a dog, And I played catch with him on a grassy field, But i was outside of it, He was the only one inside the field.
- Now I will be asking you some questions, Have you been to a lot of grassy areas? Do you have a dog? And did you notice any tick bites?
- Oh, That's how I got it!
- I think a tick got on your dog and used it to get onto you.
- I have been having fatigue, headaches and i have been getting some skin rashes.
- Do you have any symptoms, If yes, What are they.
- Is there any type of treatment to this disease?
- Yes their is, I recommend using doxycycline, amoxicillin, cefuroxime, and if you are intolerant, use azithromycin but you should be closely monitered.
- How can i prevent this disease from reocurring?
- you can try to avoid going in very grassy areas and be careful on hiking trips, also to prevent an outbreak just stay at your home after coming from a hiking trip or very grassy areas for 2 days since the tick will leave by then.
