- Tumatauenga suggested that they should kill their parents. But Tanemahuta disagreed. He said that they should separate them as it will be better.
- Finally there was light!.
- The children then came out to the light and they became gods of various parts of the world
- Tumatauenga became God of War
- Tawhirimatea became the God of wind and weather.
