  • Winters at Valley Forge were miserable. People who were there would have to suffer without any shoes and barely any housing. Over two-thirds of the people who lived there died from a diesice.

  • A problem faced by the soldiers was no matter how sick they were or how cold they were they always had to be at military training or fighting force.
  • Another problem faced by the soldiers was they had a very limited supply. For example meals such as "firecake," a mixture of water and flour. This would sometimes be supplemented by pepper pot soup, a stew of beef tripe and vegetables.
  • Of the 100 men he got chosen, he spoke no English. He arrived at the camp for the trading program.
