Storyboard Text
- "In Mallard, nobody married dark. Nobody left either, but Desiree had already done that. Marrying a dark man and dragging his blueblack child all over town" (Bennett, 5)
- For weeks into Desiree settling into D.C, she found herself a job at the fingerprinting department, "She could identify one person out of a million by studying a ridge: it's width, shape pores, contour, breaks, and creases" (Bennett, 19). Desiree was good at her job at the fingerprinting department, she could identify anyones fingerprint with no problem. Desiree wanted to carry on her fingerprinting job when she came back to Mallard but couldn't find one in town.
- After receiving continuous stares from old faces, Desiree was walking in her home town with her daughter. As people stare at Desiree most had their opinions on the type of girl she was before running away. Bennett writes, "she was a selfish girl" (Bennett, 4). Throughout the novel Desiree is portrayed as the selfish and unorganized twin, being a person who usually runs away from her problems.

- "Twin girls, creamy skin, hazel eyes, wavy hair" (Bennett, 6)
- What do they do well?
- 6 months after Stella left, Desiree moved to D.C to start her life over without her sister. Desiree would still think about Stella even though it's been months after Stella's disappearance. Bennett wites, "She would forget sometimes, as strange as it sounded" (Bennett, 17). Desiree would think about all the laughs and fun her and Stella had. Even after Stella left , Desiree would hear a funny joke and turn to tell Stella, forgetting her sister left her.
