Storyboard Text
- Ponyboy 'picks up' Cherry Valance and they sit and watch the movie.
- "We had picked up too girls, and classy ones at that" (Hinton 25).
- Ponyboy and the gang along with Cherry and her friend are confronted by Bob and Randy, some high class Socs who jumped Johnny a little while back.
- Darry and Soda are worried about Pony and when Ponyboy arrives home late at around two they are angry. Soda is lenient but Darry is frustrated to the point of hitting Pony
- "Pony I didn't mean it" (Hinton pg 50).
- Pony and Johnny run away to the park and think about running away for good.
- The Socs show up and are ready to jump Johnny and Ponyboy, they begin the drown pony. Then Johnny acts in defense and pulls out his blade, killing Bob; a Soc.
- Pony and Johnny proceed to run away to an abandoned church that Dally told them about in the country. They ride a train there and then crouch in the grass contemplating what to do next.
- "We crouched in the weeds beside the railroad tracks, listening to the whistle grow louder" (Hinton pg 62).
