- Dog is a symbol (Symbolism)
- Golden ray of sunshine lightened up the world like it was celebrating with me. The day has finally come. The dog I had from my birth is turning 10 (foreshadowing). The dog has been my only friend from then and I couldn't stop feeling happy about it.
- The amazing day was over. We made our own cake and my dog blew the candle. Also we played with my dog the whole day; the day was absolutely perfect.
- As the sun brightly lightened up the sky (repetition), my head was filled with things I could play with my dog that I couldn't yesterday. While I was playing catch, I felt something different. It was like something had changed.

- I went to sleep with a weird feeling inside me. I didn't know what it was, but it felt like something was wrong. What could it be? (Rhetorical question)
- It was like the sky collapsed on me. It couldn't be it. He couldn't have left me behind. Why would the world do this to me? I thought he was barely 10. That was when the news hit me very hard on the head, dogs age 7 times faster then people.
- When I went out to tell the depressing and miserable news, I found the coolest thing on the Earth. It was a ROBOT DOG! (font). My life was saved. A robot dog would never die and leave me behind. Nothing was wrong after all!(Show of his identity)
