  • Ohio valley river 1754-1763
  • Great, now we impose new taxes on the American Colonies!
  • The Sugar Act 1764
  • Hi sir, do you know why the sugar prices have risen?
  • Oh yes the British have given us a new tax since they were in debt due the the war.
  • We should tax their paper! We will get tons of money off of this!

  • The French and Indian war left Great Britain in debt so they decided to enforce new taxes on the American Colonies.
  • Thank you for the great food and housing!
  • In 1764 the British added tax on Sugar and sugar products. They needed more money to fight in the war so they are picking on the colonists for more money.

  • The Stamp Act was the first raise in revenue through taxation of the transactions in the colonies. The products that were taxed included newspapers, stamps, pamphlets, playing cards and much more. This led to protests, riots and stamp burnings.

  • The Townshend act taxed Glass, paint, lead, paper and tea. They also gave the British authority to search through Colonists houses and businesses. This act also allowed the British to police courts in America to prosecute Smugglers.

  • The Boston massacre was a brawl that turned into a horrific scene between the redcoats and the people of Massachusetts. It was all unintended but has now made an even worse relationship between the colonists and the British.
