- Kate's mother died 20 years ago. After she died Kate wanted nothing to do with her old house. So she left and never touched the house, it was too sad for her to go in it. Kate always used to be so happy and a people pleaser so everyone loved her until this tragedy hit her family. Something hit her one day and she decided to go into the house with her husband to search and clean it up wondering what she might find.
- They get to the last room, the basement. In the room is a bunch of boxes everywhere. It's easily the most dirty room. They get half way done and she sees this box open so she decides to look in it. She finds this monkey's paw with a note in it. She reads it and it says this is a magical paw and will give you three wishes but use it carefully and be careful for what you wish for. Jokingly she wishes to be prettier, puts the monkey's paw back in the box and goes about her day.

- They arrive back home and they are asleep until Kate wakes up in the middle of the night and suddenly doesn't feel to good. It takes her a while to go back to sleep but she ends up going right back to bed. When she does wake up her husband starts yelling at her for no reason. He goes to his car and goes to work and Kate is so confused.

- While her husband is at work Kate has a day off so she decides to go for a walk to cool down and figure things out. Kate is walking and she walks for a while passing a lot of people. Kate is a nice person and likes to talk to people so she says hi to the people that pass her but all they do is give her a nasty look back. It's like she did something but she doesn't know what.She is done with everybody being mean to her so she goes back home to take a nap.
- When she gets home she looks in the mirror and finds out that she looks like a whole new person. In fact, she looks gorgeous. She asks herself what had to happen then she remembers of that monkey's paw. She wished to be a prettier person and the consequence must have been everyone hating her. WELL IT WORKED! She runs around her house and looks in all the boxes until she finds the monkey's paw and quickly wishes that she is back to her normal self.
- She wishes and then thinks the wish happened to her when she was asleep so she took a nap on the sofa hoping that is would work. Her husband comes home and she wakes up. She rushes upstairs and looks in the mirror. HER SECOND WISH WORKED! Her husband came home with flowers for her and she looked like herself again. She realized that she needs to love herself because it's not a good idea to change it.
