This line means that this man thinks god does not care about his cries. The reason, is because it says that heav'n is deaf to his cries. This continues the theme of him having a bad life. So far he has only complained of his life.
And trouble deaf heav'n with my bootless cries,
This line means that this man wishes he was more hopeful. Wishes he was like a man that was hopeful. This goes along with him still not liking his life. he is basically saying that he wishes he was someone else.
Wishing me like to one more rich in hope
An apostrophe is being used in this poem. It is used on line 10. It says "Haply i think on thee,--and then my state". We do not know who thee is, but we can assume they are someone this man likes. The man is addressing this person without them being there. This makes the message of love more meaningful in this poem. To be able to go from sad to happy from the thought of someone just shows how important love is.
The turn is seen on line 10. Line 10 says "Haply i think on thee,--and then my state". Before this the poem was gloomy and sad. It talked about how bad this man felt about his life. Then at the turn the poem becomes uplifting and talks about how life isn't so bad. That he has someone worth living for and loving.
Like to the lark at break of day arisingFrom sullen Earth sings hymns at heaven's gate.
This line means that the man feels like a bird singing at heaven. This shows how much the man's mood has changed. He went from being depressed to feeling amazing.
This line is saying that love makes him feel rich. He is saying that he would rather have "sweet love" instead of being a rich king. This is a great end for the theme of love in this poem. That with love there is happiness and reason even in the lowest points of life.
For thy sweet love rememb'red such wealth brings,That then I scorn to change my state with kings.
