  • TWITTERSCHOOL SHOOTING
  • $#@*@
  • $#@*@
  • Cooper is a baseball pitcher with a promising future, a popular girlfriend, and a lot of fans. Cooper did not utilize drugs, contrary to what Simon had heard. The police, on the other hand, locate a file Simon had encrypted revealing yet another Cooper story, which turns out to be genuine. Cooper is pressed to confess his secret to his family, despite his lawyer's protests: he is gay and has been cheating on Keely with a dude named Kris.
  • Nate appears to be the prime suspect, as he is the only member of the four with a criminal record. Nate has always had affections for Bronwyn, and their sentiments appear to be reciprocated as the inquiry into Simon's death progresses. Nate is concerned that Bronwyn only sees him as a project to be managed. Nate has a history of using and selling drugs, and Simon's unpublished post claims that he is doing it again—which is correct. However, since Simon's death and the events that followed, Nate has stopped, at least for a while because he believes Bronwyn deserves someone with a simpler life.
  • How do I get Nate out? His criminal history doesn't really help him. This would be a tough case.
  • When the police appear to be focused solely on one or more of the Bayview Four, Maeve conducts her own inquiry into Simon's death and informs her sister Bronwyn of her findings. Maeve has access to Simon's About That admin page and can dig into Simon's past. Maeve learns some disturbing details about Simon, including some offensive remarks he wrote and in the aftermath of a local school shooting. Despite their lawyers and parents' attempts to prevent them from speaking with one another, the Bayview Four agree to cooperate as the inquiry progresses. They continue their investigation into Simon's past with the help of Ashton and Maeve.
  • I had to frame Nate! Addy has been so nice to me, I just couldn't betray her like that. But what will Jake say?
  • Janae, Simon's only friend, begins spending time with Addy and Bronwyn. After confessing to Jake of her disloyalty, Addy is ridiculed and outcast at school by her previous friend. She does, however, find new freedom once she is no longer under Jake's control. Cooper confides in Addy after informing his parents about Kris. When the school finds that Cooper's true gender, Nate rallies to Cooper's defense. Everyone's secret is out now, and the four of them are becoming increasingly focused on discovering Simon's true killer.

  • When Nate gets arrested, the pressure on Addy and Cooper is temporarily relieved. The authorities uncovered incriminating evidence in Nate's possession, including Simon's EpiPen and water bottle. However, none of the things have Nate's DNA on them. Bronwyn enlists the services of Addy and Cooper, as well as a lawyer named Eli Kleinfelter, to release Nate. The Bayview Four determine that Simon staged his own death after learning that he hired someone to arrange the vehicle accident. The group, on the other hand, does not believe Simon acted alone. Simon has to have had a helper: whoever has been anonymously posting about the case.
  • Jake quickly becomes their main suspect, which makes Addy sad. Janae reveals that Simon did indeed plot his own murder when Addy visits her at her house. He persuaded Jake to aid him by using his knowledge of Addy's secret, including installing the false cell phones that resulted in the group being put to detention. Jake authored the anonymous posts after Simon's death and forced Janae to plant evidence that would accuse Addy—at least, that's what Jake assumed. Janae couldn't bring herself to frame Addy after Simon's death because they've become close, so she accused Nate instead. Nate's framing was a lie that the cops were all too prepared to believe.
