  • Speaking of the Brain, lets talk about the thalamus and hypothalamus, since it's right above the hippocampus and amygdala!
  • The thalamus is important for processing your senses such as sight, hearing, taste, and touch.
  • The hypothalamus' main function is to keep the body internally healthy and balanced, which is called homeostasis.

  • The Cerebral Cortex divides into 4 lobes. The occipital, temporal, frontal, and parietal.
  • The frontal lobe is responsible for decision-making, conscious thought, intelligence, etc. The parietal lobe is located between the frontal and occipital lobe and is responsible for sensory information and spatial processing.

  • Another part of your brain is the motor cortex. It's function is to direct your body movement. It is located in your brain's frontal lobe.

  • The temporal lobe is located between the frontal and occipital lobe, and is responsible for language, speech, learning, etc. The occipital lobe is responsible for visual processing and is located at the back of the Brain.
  • The sensory cortex's function is to detect and process body movement. It is located at the front of the parietal lobe.
