- Lila's mother get more ill she could barely move so she sent her younger siblings to their neighbours, instead they told them about some magic man. Later their night while their mother was lying in her bed and their dad left them alone at the house and then the 3 drunken next door neighbors came asking for money and being violent, and also Hari came back.
- Watchman of the factory and Biju started a conversation about what's going to happen to Thul. The watchman was joking about Biju's boat which irritated him a lot. Hari goes to the market to get ice for his mother's forehead when he sees a large crowd going somewhere turns out after Adarkar a guy form Alibagh made a speech about what will happen to Thul everyone decided to go to Bombay and talk to the Cheif Minister, Hari liked the idea as they were going to Bombay. when he get home he gets the news of their dog Pinto who has been poisoned. They assumed it was the people who threatend them. That day Hari decides to run away.
- Biju was launching his boat today his wife put up flags and banners. Palm trees lade on the edge of the sea so the boat could get in easily. A man also painted the trunks with oil so the boat could slide off. Later on the realized Hari wasn't there and they thought he was gone to Rewas with the other villagers
