  • One thing that people didn't agree on was whether a slave counted as a person or not. The Southerners wanted to so that they would have more citizens, but the Northerners, who didn't have very many slaves, thought that was unfair. So they agreed on the 3/5th compromise, which allowed both parties to be satisfied, by making each slave 3/5th of a person on a census. This was particularly important to Thomas Jefferson, who owned a great many slaves.
  • I am Thomas Jefferson. These are a few of my slaves. We all live in Monticello, where i live in the big house, and they live in the slave houses.
  • After a while, it became clear that the Articles of Confederation would not be a long standing document. So, it was decided to create a Constitution. Some people were for it and other people were against it. We'll learn more about them later. However, the Constitution was ratified by the majority of the states, making it the law of the land. My personal favorite state, North Carolina, declined it at first, but eventually ratified it. However, the only reason most people ratified who were initialy upposed to it was because of the addition of a Bill of Rights.
  • The people who wanted the Constitution were called Federalists, and the people who did not want the Constitution were called Anti-Federalists. At first, the Anti-Federalists did not want the Constitution at all. However, with the addition of a Bill of Rights, they eventually came around, and the Constitution was ratified.
  • The Bill of Rights had many different parts, such as: -The right to bear arms -The right to not have unwarranted searches -No quartering of soldiers outside of wartime -Life, Liberty and Happiness -The right to Freedom of Religion, Speech and Free Press
  • The Constitution has been the law of the land ever since, and it helps protect and serve our citizens ever since. We are a thriving country that will be around for centuries to come!!!!!!
  • Well that was fun! Good day to you Jemmy!
  • Good day, Eric!
