Juan's journey of learning how to multiply polynomials. by Lucas Mendez
Im sorry but I don't know how to multiply polynomials Ms. Candice.
Juan, can you explain to the class how to multiply polynomials? Its necessary for the test tomorrow.
At the library after school
I really want to learn how to multiply polynomials in order to get better at math and get a good grade on the test. These textbooks mention something called the FOIL method. I should ask someone what it is.
At Juan's room in bedtime.
Hey mom, do you what the FOIL method is?
The FOIL method is used to multiply polynomials. FOIL stands for front, outside, inside, and outside .
At Juan's desk at morning in the next day
Now I get it. If I get a problem like (2y-7)(3y+5) all I need to do is use the FOIL method to multiply the terms. Once I get 6y^2+10y-21y-35 I then have to add and subtract the like terms. I would finish up with the answer 6y^2-11y-35. Now I should be good to go on the test.
I'm nervous for the test today. I studied my hardest and I now know how to multiply polynomials.
I finished the test easily. I think I got and A plus. All that hard work paid off in the end.
