- The berlin blockade saw the conflicting governmental beliefs between the USSR and the other allies. Through actions taken by France, England, and the US caused stalin to create a blockade stopping supplies sent by the allies to berlin. Truman was met with a dilemma and decided to send aid by air to avoid declaring war eventually the blockade was removed after the USSR realized that the allies wouldn't stop and they couldn't risk another war
- NATO or the North Atlantic Treaty Organization is a large organization composed of multiple nations all part of a mutual security agreement or treaty. At the time NATO was composed of The United States, Canada, Belgium, Denmark, France, Iceland, Italy, Luxemburg, The Netherlands, Portugal, The United Kingdom's, and Norway. Later Greece and Turkey had joined as well as West Germany NATO at the time all pledged an attack in the event of the USSR attempting an invasion of West Germany.
- The Warsaw Pact was more or less the Soviet's response or variation of NATO. The members of the Warsaw Pact were the USSR, Albania, Bulgaria, Czechoslovakia, East Germany, Hungary, Poland, and Romania. The Warsaw was made as a mutual defence against NATO due to the conflicting organisations this obviously caused confrontation.
