  • On July 14 1789, a state prison on the east side of Paris, known as the Bastille, was attacked by an angry and aggressive mob, this prison represented royal authority in the centre of Paris.
  • Is it just me or do they look mad
  • On January 21st, 1793, King Louis XVI of France was publicly executed by the guillotine at Place de la Revolution in Paris. The reason King Louis XVI was executed because in August 1792 King Louis and his wife Marie Antoinette tried to escape France as they were being held captive. But on their way there they were spotted and arrested. This made the national convention to put King Louis into trial. And with a 1 vote difference, it was decided that King Louis XVI would be sent and killed by the guillotine because of conspiracy with foreign powers and being a traitor.

  • Long Live The Napoleon Consul
  • Britain, Prussia and Austria, were France's enemies during the revolution, where those countries did not want revolutionary ideas to spread to their country because they were a monarchy. But Napoleon Bonaparte who was a French general was able to defeat those countries in a series of wars called the Napoleon Wars. And in November 1799 Napoleon created a successful coup against the Directory, which was France's government at that time. Which made Napoleon became the consul of France which basically gave him unlimited powers over France.
