Too slowthe teacher saysRead faster.Too babyish, the teacher says.Read older.But I don't want to read faster or older or any way else that might make a story disappear too quickly from whereit's settlinginside my brain, slowly becominga part of me. a part of me. A story I will remember long after I've read it for the second, third,tenth, hundredth time.

- Why I chose this poem I chose this poem because of personal experience. I've had the thoughts of people thinking that I would be like my brothers its good but sometimes bad. Sometimes my brothers acted mean or disrespectful around them and they think the same thing of me. It hurts when they don't give me a chance and just make assumptions about me. But it is how the world will treat you. The world is not all sunshine and rainbows, you don't always get what you want. I've just learned to not care what people think of me in public because if I do that's where it affects you.
