  • The Storming Of the Bastille- July 14, 1789A mob of parisian civilians rioted and attacked the royal fortress prison called the Bastille, as they saw it as the symbol of everything that was wrong with France. It was a symbol of the King and his government, and the Paris mob wanted it destroyed.

  • Reign Of Terror- September 5, 1793A period of the French Revolution, during which many persons were ruthlessly executed by the ruling faction. Including the greedy King Louis XIV, as well as his wife, Marie Antoinette. Which were convicted of treason, captured and kept in house arrest until their executions.

  • End of the French Revolution, and the ascent of Napoleon Bonaparte- November 9, 1799During the raging revolution in France, Napoleon Bonaparte, who was a highly skilled army general, was rapidly rising through the ranks of the military during the French Revolution. After seizing political power in France in 1799 (Coup d'état), he crowned himself emperor in 1804. His reign as Emperor created a new form of government in France, reshaped the boundaries of Europe, and influenced revolutionaries and nationalists around the world.
