- James! Why don't we go celebrate your one year anniversary after work?
- Uh.. maybe some other time?
- What a stressful day. I'm glad to be home, but what do I do now? Let me check my phone.
- James Shepherd just reached his one year anniversary at his accountant job. This job relocated him far away from his family and friends. He has struggled to connect with his co-workers.
- I've had enough! It is time that I found some help.
- James returns home after turning down the party invitation from his boss.
- His hometown friends try to keep him in the loop via a group chat, but James can't help but feel lonely in his new city. Here we see the group chat discussing their plans for tonight.
- Why is it so difficult to find help? There has to be a better way!
- After reading all of his phone notifications, James gets to the dreaded No notifications screen. James recently went on a first date with a woman his age named Alyssa, but he has not heard back from her. He thinks his social anxiety scared her off. This screen informs him that she still hasn't messaged him back.
- Frustrated with his loneliness and anxiety, James finally sets out to find a therapist. He does a Google search for therapists near me .
- The first search result is a page on Psychology Today showing Therapists in Dallas, Texas . He feels overwhelmed with the amount of information that is shown. He doesn't know what makes a good therapist. He doesn't want to meet a therapist in-person and cannot find any virtual sessions.
- James gives up his search for a therapist and resigns to having another night alone.
