My friend Terry has started smoking. I know that smoking can really hurt your body and I want to do something to help Terry. Terry keeps telling I should try it. I remember my parents telling me something about The Six Steps to Decision-Making.
The first step is Identifying the Problem. Well, the problem is Terry has started smoking and wants me to join him but I know how bad it is for me.
The second step is What are your Influences? I know my parents would be upset if I started smoking but Terry will if I don't. I think my parents are more important.
The third step is What are my Options? I can talk to Terry, or I can ask my parents for help.
The fourth step is Weigh the Options. I'm almost at school so I think I'm going to talk to Terry when I get there. If that doesn't work, I'll talk to my parents.
The fifth step is to Do Something!
You know what, you're right, I will stop smoking, I know it is bad for me and I'm sorry for trying to get you to start smoking too.
I think you should stop smoking because it is bad for you. So I'm not going to start smoking.
Hey Terry!
It's all good!
What?
The sixth step is How did it Go? Thanks to The Six Steps to Decision-Making, I've made my decision and solved the problem!
