Andrew Jackson created treaties and negotiated them with many Native American tribes, such as the Creek, Cherokee, Choctaw, and Chickasaw. However, some tribes refused to sign, such as the Seminole.

Andrew Jackson gave Native American tribes two choices. One, assimilate, or essentially become white/act European, thus leaving their lives and cultures behind. The second choice was to move. The Cherokee assimilated completely, dressing in western clothing and building plantations.
Worcester v. Georgia
Gold was discovered on Cherokee land in Georgia in 1828. The South passed laws that allowed settlers and miners to forcibly take over Native American lands.

Andrew Jackson issued the Indian Removal Act, thus forcing Native American tribes to leave their homes and relocate to modern day Oklahoma.
