The Court held through 7-2 that the Espionage act was good and it's a crime to punish traitorous language about the U.S. saying that what they said wasn't protected by the first amendment.
The Abrams V. United States case is important because it shows what the court thinks when an amendment doesn't protect a citizen or when an amendment does protect a citizen, and what wouldn't count for an amendment since they had written some traitorous language.
This might be judicial activism because the court didn't limit anything since the court said that they said some disloyal stuff so they thought there rights weren't broken stating that it was right for them to put Abrams and his colleges in jail.
Abrams had lost against the United States by a 7-2 vote. One of the justice thought that it was necessary for people's broken amendments or expressions only to save the country. In this case, it looks like the United States had won, because Abrams had stated on paper some traitorous language about the U.S.
